The Office Administration – General program focuses on the complete range of administrative support skills needed to succeed in today’s office environment. Not only will you sharpen your hands-on skills in areas such as word processing, document production, office procedures, microcomputers applications and transcription, but you will also develop polished communication and human relations expertise.

This foundation program provides training for entry into a variety of administrative assistant positions.

1. Students will take either OAGN-127 Machine Transcription OR OAGN-119 Transcription Techniques 2.

2. Students who wish to gradute from Office Administration General (2701) or Office Administration Executive (2606) have the option to choose between OGAN127 - Machine Transcription. or OAGN119 - Transcription Techniques 2. To be considered for transfer to the Office Administration Medical (2603) or Legal (2602) Diploma Program, the student must successfully complete OAGN127 - Machine Transcription.

Students require an overall minimum GPA of 2.0 and a minimum keyboarding speed of 35 wpm to graduate from the program.

Transfer to Diploma Programs
  • You will be considered for transfer to either the Office Administration Medical (2603) or Office Administration Legal (2602) diploma program if you successfully complete OAGN-127 Machine Transcription
  • You will be considered for transfer to the Office Administration Executive (2606) diploma program if you successfully complete either OAGN-119 Transcription Techniques 2 or OAGN-127 Machine Transcription


  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older)
Academic Requirements
  • For applicants who are currently attending high school in Ontario your midterm and final grades will be transmitted automatically to the college.

Completion of this Office Administration certificate can give you advanced standing transfer into the second year of some Office Administration diploma programs at Centennial College.
